About me: Started racing in endurance sports about 8 years ago with adventure racing, then onto mountain bike racing, triathlons, orienteering and basically any outdoor endurance sport... but AR is still my favorite and primary sport.
Sports: Adventure racing, triathlon, orienteering, endurance mountain bike racing, trail and snowshoe running, etc...
Athletic Accomplishments: Multi-day adventure races including WPER, RTNX, EFIX, Untamed NE, Transmarocaine, Extreme Adventure Hidalgo, Neuvo Leone; 24 hour mtb racing: 1st Solo Summer Solstice 06, 1st solo Lifestyles of Rich & Famous; Hellgate 100K ultramarathon; Ironman Canada, IMUSA; XTERRA World Champs; Transrockies MTB race...
Athletic goals: 2010: Multi-day AR: Patagonia Expedition Race (Chile), Dakota Rogaine (SD), Wilderness Traverse (ON), Ultimate XC (PQ), Untamed NE (NH). Sprint AR: all FAC races, Storm the Trent. Maybe a few triathlons and trail races.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: Never really had a "catastrophic" experience although not being able to find a CP during the Michigan Expedition race while in 2nd place, leading to our eventual DNF was a big disappointment. I still have my doubts it was in the right spot!
My most memorable racing experience was: Every year holds something to remember but 2010 was very special being able to compete in the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race. 8-days non-stop at the end of the world in the extremely remote south end of Chile on Tierra del Feugo. Trekking across the Darwin Cordillera, paddling the Beagle Channel and biking against the brutal 100km/h Patagonian winds. So tough, but all worth it with a great team.
Favourite footwear, clothing, or equipment: Anything Salomon (footwear, packs and clothing), Fox River socks, Icebreaker, Mizuno BreathTermo.
Favourite race: Raid the North Extreme
Favourite race food: Always depends on the type of race but generally my gear bin always has GU Chomps, Hammer Perpetuem, Boost, chocolate milk and red bull...
