Asics Gel Kayano 13 make the cut yet again
I went to buy new running shoes on the weekend. I have spent the winter running pretty high mileage and could feel my previous Kayanos dying a slow death.
I had this idea walking into Running Free that maybe I would try a new pair of runners this go. I tried on a few pairs of comparable models to the Kayan
o made by other companies. Nothing felt quite right. My last pair to try on were the new Kayano 13s… I was home. They felt just as good as ever.. I was walking on air.
For me, I know a running shoe is right if I can go through a 30km training run without even thinking about my feet. With the Kayano, I honestly don’t even think once about foot pain or even about how great my feet are feeling. My Kayanos totally take care of my feet so that I can really concentrate on the workout at hand.
I realize the Kayano is not a cheap shoe. But neither is rehab physiotherapy! I would much rather spend good money on outstanding shoes that keep me running and running.
My new Kayanos went out for their first spin this wet April morning. They are now recovering on the shoe shelf from a steady 17km getting ready for a tempo run tomorrow morning!
I know we will be good friends for life!
