The Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra is an excellent shoe overall. It may not be a perfect shoe for me but it is still one of my favourites. It is very comfortable and provides medium support. It’s most drawing feature for me is the drawstring tightening. Although most runners are not lazy, I know I am not alone when I say I hate tying and untying my shoes.
The draw string makes it much more convenient and welcoming when untying your shoes after a run. It is a heavier shoe than what I am used to, because my races are usually short and fast making it a much better training shoe for me. It’s traction is usable on the road but I would recommend it for trails. It can not compare with a spiked shoe for traction but as far as tread goes it is one of the most effective I have used. Again, it is not necessarily my kind of shoe, but in general it is an outstanding shoe.
