OS1st Gear – Performance Quad Sleeve

I chose a Performance Quad Sleeve to review, from OS1st Gear, in this year’s lottery. Although I didn’t have a specific issue at the time, I thought it would be helpful to have this sleeve in case of any niggling hamstring or IT band issues, that I’ve experienced in the past. I wore the sleeve quite a few times, as a preventative measure or when I felt a little niggle. The compression is reasonably comfortable, not too tight or restrictive, and didn’t slide down. And my issues didn’t get worse, which is important!! I think it’s a worthwhile piece to have in your arsenal, as these kind of running injuries can happen at any time.

In the past I borrowed 2 similar sleeves to use at at meet after an injury. One kept sliding down, and was thick and awkward. The second was a much more expensive one, seemingly lighter but actually with very good grip and very helpful compression, that I didn’t really even feel aware of. I would say it was just right. This one from OS1st is in the middle — yes it stayed in place, but for some reason the compression didn’t feel quite in the right place for me. As I run, I’m conscious of a slight tightness in mid-hamstring, that I was too aware of. I’d still say it’s a worthwhile, fairly economical therapy piece to have for mild niggles, just not the best there is out there, if you had a serious injury and could spend a lot more.
