After training all summer using my hydration vest, I was in search of a belt option to wear during my marathons because I don’t carry any water and rely on the course hydration stations.
I bought the FlipBelt and didn’t love the fit, the jiggling around and I actually lost a gel when on a longer run. Then I tried the SPIbelt Dual Pocket Pro, which felt like the piece of gear I was searching for. I used it a few times throughout my marathon training, and it’s quickly become one of my must-have pieces of gear for race day.
The dual-pocket design is perfect for long runs. I find that it is able to hold all the gels, chews, and salt tabs I need for marathon day with ease.
The belt stays completely secure, even on tempo runs, long runs, and hill workouts. I don’t have to constantly adjust it, which makes pacing and focus much easier. The elastic band is soft and comfortable, so I can wear it for hours without chafing, which is a lifesaver on runs over 20 miles.
It’s low-profile enough that it doesn’t interfere with my stride, and it works for short training runs just as well as longer marathon prep runs. I will say that it does wiggle around slightly when packed full at the start of the marathon, but that doesn’t bother me since it’s still way better than the other ones I’ve tested.
Overall, the SPIbelt Dual Pocket Pro has made marathon training smoother and more convenient. It keeps my essentials secure, stays comfortable mile after mile, and lets me focus on the run rather than adjusting my gear.
