About Me: I was born and raised in Markham. I own a physiotherapy practise at Markham rd and hwy 7 (inner strength physiotherapy). I am a mom to 2 sporty kids and when I am not training I am driving them to lacrosse and dance and managing teams. I started running in my early 20s. I started doing marathons, then got int triathlon and did 2 Ironmans. I got back into running pretty quickly after both kids were born. Both of my kids spent a lot of time in jogging strollers as babies and toddlers. I took a bit of time off running after Covid and focused more on strength training and yoga. In 2025 I decided I wanted to get into running and racing. I signed up for a half and full Marathon and also my first ever trail race, and first ever ultra. I ended up running a 50km trail race, a trail marathon and a 53 km trail race in 2025. My focus has now shifted and I have grown a love for trails and all things ultra.
Sports: I love to run and have very recently gotten off the road and into the trails. I love hot yoga! And I also love to ski, golf and play hockey.
Athletic Goals: For 2026 my big goal is to do my first 100km ultra. So far for 2026 I am racing Chilly half marathon, 50km Foxtail trail race, 100km Sulpher Springs trail race and the Frostbite Solstice trail race(9hr ish)
My most catastrophic racing experience was: I had a scary situation with a couple coyotes on an early morning run once. Thankfully all ended well.
My most memorable racing experience was: I have two recent ones, one was in October 2025 finishing sticks and stones 53km trail race and both of my kids running me into the finish line. And the second was at chilly half marathon March 2026 getting a PB and beating my 2025 time by 7 min and beating my previous PB from 20 years ago at 26 years old, by 2 min!!!
Favourite Racing Gear: I love fitted high waisted bike shorts for running, or high waisted tights for colder weather. Pockets are an added bonus!
Favourite Race: Tobermory Trail Marathon
Favourite Race Food: Gu gels and xact blocks are my go to. But I also like cycling in some regular food like perogies, pizza or potatoes.
