About Me: Active living has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember. I love all types of movement...except cycling, just can't seem to get on board :).... throughout my school career I stayed active with track and field, cross country, volleyball and ultimate frisbee. Into my adult years, I found a new love in hockey, soccer and ball hockey and continued my love of running. Participating in many road races over the years of mostly 5km to 10km, I have finished 5 1/2 marathons and 1 full marathon at Disney. Most recently I found my way back to the track and recently competed for team Canada at the World Masters Track & Field Championship. I continue to race competitively in the 200m, 400m and 800m and masters cross country in the fall. I'm also an active coach for Special Olympics, coaching my son in Track and Field and Swimming. My primary goal in staying active is to influence my children to live healthy and active.

Sports: Overall, I love running, no doubt about that. For organized sport, I really do love soccer and ball hockey, such quick and agile sports, they really do allow my endurance to shine.

Athletic Goals: Goals for 2026 include competing in the 200m, 400m and 800m track events indoor and outdoor, a sprinkling of local 5km road races, as well as masters cross country in the fall.

My most catastrophic racing experience was: Working my way through the Disney Marathon, I was doing well until about 20 miles in when it was clear I was not doing well. At one point I remember thinking why can't I go any faster and I looked down and I was actually just standing still, not moving, holding onto a lamp post! It was such a strange experience, almost at the state of delusion where I thought I was moving but was totally still. I had to will my feet to move and get to the finish line. I'm pretty sure I was full on talking to myself the rest of the way, but I made it!

My most memorable racing experience was: Running the Sunshine Skyway 10km in Florida in 2020 right before the world shut down, what an incredible experience being at the top of the bridge, I just stopped and took it all in, time didn't matter in that moment. More recently, in 2025 I was able to participate in the Terry Fox run across the Confederation Bridge in PEI, not THAT was amazing!

Favourite Racing Gear: I've recently become a Brooks lover, switching from Hoka, it seems all my gear lately has the Brooks logo! I also love any running short with a phone pocket! I can't go anywhere without my Garmin 245 watch.

Favourite Race: Mount Albert 5km, close to home, very familiar route

Favourite Race Food: Admittedly, I'm terrible at nutrition, I often workout in the morning on an empty stomach and eat quite light following that. I do aspire to learn more about healthy nutrition and the effects it has on training. Nuun is a must have for me also.
