Kingston Challenge October 19th 2009

On a chilly blustery Sunday morning at Lake Ontario Park was the one race that brought the Eastern and Southern Ontario series together. This is the race where those who don’t normaly race together get to of course race together. The usuall looped type course that is the staple of Cyclocross though with some changes due to racing with UCI rules. That biggest change is when one gets lapped by the leaders they keep racing. No one gets pulled. Which is both and good depending on how one looks at it. For some it means they can feel hat puke sensation a wee bit longer. Being my third cross race went with the usuall tactic of have fun and race for myself.  And it was a fun day of racing. Even though I wasn’t intending to race hard things changed at the half way point. About 4 of us for the last half raced each other through the course. Which made it even more fun as racing is fun.    At the end of it was overall happy with how I did. Want to race Cross again next fall. Though I will definitely need to be fitter and use better tires.
