About Me: I returned to regular running in 2020 after a few false starts and bouts of injury, as I wanted to be a more active role model to my children. I primarily focus on road running but for 2026, I will be drifting more into trail and ultra distances. Over the last few years I have focused on running at least one marathon per year, while also racing a fast 5km alongside my son Zachary, who recently found a joy for middle distance racing and trying to beat his father. My days as the fastest in the household are numbered and I could not be happier for it! Interesting fact: I am also a highly decorated homebrewer who has also won an Ontario Brewing Award (professional level) in a collaboration with a commercial brewery. STATISTICS: Male, 47yrs, 6foot, 185lbs, size11, PR 5km 18:35, 10km 43:00, 21.1km 1:32:39, 42.2km 3:11:24, 50km 6:36:11, 100km ??
Sports: Running (road, track and trail), cycling (road and mtb), downhill skiing, soccer, hockey
Athletic Goals: Primary: Completing my first 100km race (Sulphur Springs May 2026) Secondary: Running a sub-20min 5km race with my son.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: A torn medial meniscus during the Honda Waterfront half in Barrie 2024, though I did painfully finish the race.
My most memorable racing experience was: Returning from that knee injury to win my local 5km in October 2024 (New Tecumseh Memorial), competing with my running group and alongside my son.
Favourite Racing Gear: Current favourite trainer: Mizuno Neo Vista / Neo Zen Recovery shoe: Brooks Ghost Max 2 Trail shoe: The North Face VECTIV Enduris 4 Racing shoe: Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4 / Takumi Sen 11
Favourite Race: Island Lake Classic
Favourite Race Food: Training: The baguette! I believe I am single handedly normalizing the public consumption of an entire baguette, on-the-go. Race: XACT ENERGY fruit bars or baked potatoes!
