CW-X Ventilator Tights

cwx_ventilatortights_mens_blackgray.jpgFor those that have never used CW-X products you are really missing out on something special. I have been using CW-X tights for the last 5 years or so and absolutely love them. At first I was somewhat skeptical that incorporating their Conditioning Web (compression technology) into tights would make any difference at all. My wife was having some running issues and the claims made by CW-X about muscle stability, increase endurance and injury prevention struck a cord. Initially these were not available in Canada so I order a pair online for her for Christmas from the US. She got them loved them so I opted to get a pair myself and can’t believe the difference they make.

The first thing you will notice about these tights is that immediately you feel the conditioning web supporting your muscles. The Ventilator model is designed to run in warmer temperatures. I tend to be the type of runner that if it is anywhere around 5 degrees Celsius and above I am in shorts so wasn’t really sure I was going to like using tights in warmer weather. In the Ventilator tights lightweight mesh along the quad and Achilles allow them to breath. They also feel like they are made from a lighter weight material overall which helps to dissipate heat further. The Conditioning Web runs along the IT Band, supports the knee, lower back, inside of the leg and then through the calf. I have used these tights on both long and short runs and they perform very well, though I find that the true benefit of the technology really comes through after about the 90 minute mark of a long run. I find that my legs remain fresh and my workout remains strong to the end. The other real benefit is that the following day my legs feel good, sometimes fatigued but never to the point where they impact the next workout.

cwx_ventilatortights_mens_blackgrey_back_200.jpgI find these are a great product to use if your preference is to run in tights given the option. CW-X suggests that you can use these up to 21 degrees Celsius though for me that is a little too warm. I tend to get hot pretty quickly but have found that I am able to run in these comfortably up to 15 degrees Celsius before I start to overheat. I think that these are your prefect choice for those in between days. These are also perfect for race days when its cold to start, you know it is going to warm up so you throw your shorts on and freeze waiting for the race to start.

If you are looking for a new pair of running tights I suggest that you give these a try, though once you do you won’t want to run in anything else.
