About Me: I started running in 2018 because I didn’t know what else I wanted to do. So I had done a couple obstacle courses and knew I did not enjoy the running part but I thought the next big milestone would be to do a full marathon. So I signed up to run in October of 2019 and also completed the Toronto half marathon feeling like absolute death. After completing the marathon in October that’s when I absolutely fell in love with running and haven’t looked back.
Athletic Goals: Long term goal is to run a sub 3 hour marathon but for this year I am aiming for a sub 3:20 marathon.
My most catastrophic racing experience was: Last year I followed a 5k plan after 3 years of just marathon training. Looking at the workout made me think 6x3min on 2min off at 5k pace would be to short/easy. Boy was I wrong as I huffed and puffed on the 3 rep i absolutely just wanted to lie on the ground lol. But it made me realize how little emphasis I’ve put on the shorter distances throughout my training.
My most memorable racing experience was: My first marathon that went absolutely terribly but was what made me fall in love with it. I under fueled ran with pain that caused me to limp at the 17k mark but when I got to the finish line I never felt happier.
